Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot has said that if his party comes to power after the upcoming elections, it will not terminate any ongoing developmental projects by the current government in the state. He also said that it is in the best interest of people.

In an interview to ANI he said, “If we come to power, we promise the people of Rajasthan that we’ll not end any scheme started by CM Vasundhara Raje. We’ll take them forward. For development, it is our progressive thought to work in the interest of people without wasting time”.

Ashok Gehlot also slammed CM Raje to have delayed the development in Rajasthan.  He said that the refinery project, which was started by Congress would have been completed by now had the CM not delayed its work in the name of reviewing and wasting time in re-laying the foundation stone.

“Today there is only a wall in the name of refinery construction. Had it not been delayed, the refinery would have taken full shape by now,” Gehlot said.

He also held her responsible for stopping a number of projects across the state.  He maintained that people are angry with her and desperately want a change.

He said, “She should apologize to the people for not doing any work in these five years, even though the people gave her a massive mandate”.

Mr. Gehlot is in run for the chief ministerial candidate along with the state Congress chief Sachin Pilot. He is also chairing the coordination panel, one of the nine committees formed by Rahul Gandhi in the state to manage an election.

Sachin Pilot had also made a mordacious comment on Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for announcing free electricity for the farmers just after the EC declared the election dates.

A few days earlier she had also announced a 4 percent reduction in Value-added tax (TAX) on petrol and diesel.

Rajasthan Elections are slated to take place on December 7 and counting of votes will be done December 11.
