The politics of Bihar has seen a turnaround in last few hours with a lot of unexpected and interesting events taking place. Yesterday evening, Nitish Kumar resigned from his post of Bihar chief minister, citing reasons against the corruption charges on the deputy chief minister, Tejashwi Yadav.

The rollout of the events was so brisk on the evening of Wednesday, that within 3 hours of Nitish Kumar resigning, BJP extended its support to JD(U), the parties finalised Nitish Kumar as CM and Sushil Modi as deputy CM and even the governor invited the new coalition to form the government in the state.

With all the events happening, RJD has started to feel left out. The party, which had an upper hand in the politics of Bihar until yesterday evening, is fighting for a chance to even put its views. Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister and son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, has termed the incident as unfortunate and attacked the governor stating that RJD as the single biggest party, should be given a chance to prove its majority first.

In a press conference yesterday, Lalu Prasad had alleged Nitish Kumar to have cases registered on himself and also attacked the new coalition saying that if Nitish Kumar is so honest, there is no need for such a hurry in the formation of new government. RJD is still trying its luck to have any chance of forming the government, however, the numbers seem in the favour of BJP and JDU.

Reacting to this, RJD supporters started protesting on the morning on Thursday and jammed a number of roads leading to Patna. One of the main blockages of RJD supporters includes Mahatma Gandhi Setu, which connects northern Bihar to Patna. Nitish Kumar is expected to take oath at around 10:00 am in the morning. This will be his sixth time as the chief minister of the state.
