Lok Sabha Polls: SC junks plea filed by Ex BSF Jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav against rejection of nomination

Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the plea of former BSF constable and Samajwadi Party candidate Tej Bahadur Yadav against the rejection of his nomination from Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency.

The Top Court Bench headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi dismissing the plea said, “We don’t find any merit to entertain this petition.”

Earlier the Top Court on Wednesday asked the Poll Office to examine the plea of former BSF constable Tej Bahadur Yadav.

Sacked BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav on Monday approached Supreme Court challenging rejection of his nomination from Varanasi Lok Sabha Seat. Samajwadi Party has named Yadav to take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi where polling is slated for May 19, the seventh and the last phase of polling.
