Supreme Court of India started hearing INX media case on Wednesday in which former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram was found to be involved. The case pertains to the alleged scam of transferring heavy tunes of money to INX media through FIPB approval.

On Wednesday, Enforcement Directorate has alleged that they are being prevented from doing their statutory duty by the court. ED also said that they have various details from several banks across the world. They said that they can’t divulge all the information to the public as the matter is very sensitive.

However, P Chidambaram’s lawyers have told in the court that their client is clean as the provisions under which he was charged did not exist at that time. The lawyers said in the court that even the Constitutional law provides for the clause that a person cannot be charged with a crime that was not an offense at the time of its alleged commission.

P Chidambaram’s family has alleged that the Modi government is trying to humiliate P Chidambaram. Even the minister claimed that the agencies are probing him so that they can humiliate him hour by the hour.

Previously, P Chidambaram has accused that the investigative agencies have leaked the affidavits of the probe. His lawyer Kapil Sibal complained about ED’s affidavit being leaked, without having been filed. To this, Tushar Mehta had denied the leakage of information from the government’s side.
