As per the directions of a District Election Officer and Collector Prashanth Jeevan, the police will impose section 144 to identify the non-locals residing in Hanamkonda, Warangal district of Telangana from December 5, 5 pm. The Campaign will also be slated for closure on December 5.

The Telangana Assembly Elections are scheduled for December 7, while the counting of votes will take place on December 11 along with other states assembly elections.

The election officials ordered the police to conduct searches in function halls and lodges after 5 pm.

In a  review meeting held with election officials Surendra Singh, T Anand and Commissioner of Police T Ravinder at Collectorate, Prashanth Jeevan asked the excise officials to conduct a special drive and intensify the checks ahead of the elections.

More than 100cr have been seized by the authorities across the state till now.

He also said that live webcasting with a broadband connection will be made from 133 polling centres along with the CCTV footages installed at 250 polling centres. Offline webcasting will be also made from 307 polling centres, collector Prashanth Jeevan added.
