Mirza Rahmat Baig, who once worked as driver and PA to former AIMIM Minister, Ahmed Pasha Quadri (2004-2009) is this time contesting on AIMIM ticket from the Rajendra Nagar constituency against TRS Leader T Prakash Goud, two time MLA from the constituency.
Mirza Rahmat Baig whose father used to run a tent house, started his Political Career as a primary president from the Ibrahim Bagh, located near Golconda. After the division of Charminar constituency into multiple segments, Baig shifts his complete focus towards the Rajendra Nagar constituency.
Ahead of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, he was appointed as the in-charge of Shastripuram and Suleman Nagar both areas falls under Rajendra Nagar Constituency. Baig came to know about his candidature after MIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted his name as a candidate.
‘A friend called me and inform about this, I had no idea that I would get a chance to contest on the party’s ticket” said Baig.
Rajendra Nagar constituency has a good vote share of minority groups with 1.4 lakh voters belonging to Muslim Community in a assembly of total 3.80 lakh voters. Out of 5 sitting corporators, 2 belonged to MIM while rest are in TRS hold.
The state will press ballot to elect a new assembly on December 7.
