Indian National Congress on Friday released their Manifesto for upcoming Telangana Assembly Elections. The Manifesto, titled as the ‘People’s Manifesto’ was released by the Former INC President and UP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi at Medchal, located at the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The party on the lines Karnataka has also promised a farm loan waiver of Rs 2 Lakh to all farmers. Apart from a farm loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh, the party promises a corpus of Rs 5,000 crore to address agrarian distress, as well as ensuring highest MSP for the 17 most common crops, and zero premium insurance to farmers if voted to power.

Other Key Promises included in the Manifesto includes, 1 lakh jobs and another 1 lakh beneficiaries through self-employment schemes, apart from the unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 to 10 lakh beneficiaries.

The party also promised immediate clearance of all pending bills under the Indiramma Housing scheme, with an additional grant of Rs 2 lakh to the beneficiaries as well as a Rs 5 lakh grant to build a new home for all plot owners. An additional Rs 1 lakh will be allocated for those from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

In addition, 200 free units of electricity to Dalits and Tribals and six LPG cylinders each year for BPL families are on the cards. The manifesto also mentioned that the party will give 7 kg rice for those living under the Below Poverty Line (BPL), as well as free rice and groceries to those from SC/ST communities.

The party has also given due importance to women empowerment and promised grants for 6 lakh women engaged in self-help groups. The party promised to distribute cycles to girl students between seventh and twelfth standard if voted to power.

The party promised to increase old-age pension from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 for senior citizens.

In a move to make government accessible, Congress in its Manifesto promised that the Chief Minister and Other Minister will be available in the Secretariat for People.

The party has also promised a fund for those working in Gulf countries facing any problems. The fund of total Rs 500 crore, and families of anyone who dies while working in the Gulf will get Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia.

The State will go for Polling on December 7, while the counting will take place on December 11.

Indian National Congress is contesting the Telangana Assembly as a part of an alliance with Telugu Desam Party(TDP), Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and Communist Party of India(CPI).
