Days after loosing a prestigious battle in Telangana‘s Nizamabad, TRS working President KT Rama Rao on Tuesday said that his party will introspect where it went wrong in the recently held national polls. KT Rama Rao, son of CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, said that the results of national polls have surprised and party is committed to have a detailed review of MLC Polls in the state.

He added, ‘Party will introspect after the conclusion of MLC polls (elected by Local Authorities) to be held on May 31.

KT Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR among his supporters said that results can be termed as setback for TRS. ‘We have won 9 seats out of the 17 Lok Sabha Seats in the state while ally AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi retained his Hyderabad Lok Sabha Seat’, said KTR in an informal interaction with mediapersons.

Motivating his party workers, KTR said party workers in the state need not to get dissappointed. He added that his party will snatch a lion share in the early month held local body elections.

He also junked the reports about TRS of not giving undue importance to T Harish Rao, former Irrigation Minister and his cousin.

Speaking on the defeat of his sister K Kavitha from Nizamabad Parliamentary Constituency, KTR alleged BJP and Congress of having ‘mutual undertanding’ to defeat his sister.

Despite TRS bag 9 seats from Telangana, its heavyweight leader K. Kavitha, the daughter of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao lost to BJP leader Arvind Dharmapuri by a margin of 71,057 votes from Nizamabad Lok Sabha Seat. This is seen as a big setback for the party in the state where they were expected the make a clean sweep.

TRS Chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had on Thursday met all the newly elected MPs. However, he is said to be upset with many party leaders for not ensuring party’s victory on all 16 seats.

Upset with party’s performance, he is expected to sack at least 2-3 ministers from its state cabinet in coming days.

In recently concluded national polls, TRS bag 9 Lok Sabha Seats, while BJP and  Congress bag 4 and 3 seats respectively. AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi retains Hyderabad Lok Sabha Seat with over 2.5 Lakh votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s victory on 4 Lok Sabha Seats have surprised many because the saffron party could only won a single seat in Telangana State polls held in December last year.
