According to the latest ICC Player Rankings for bowlers released on Wednesday, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has shown a downfall in his ranking. Previously he was on the second rank but now he has slipped to the third rank.
Ashwin is now replaced by Sri Lanka’s Rangana Herath who’s ten-wicket haul in the test match against Zimbabwe helped him the to claim the 2nd position in the list. Also, South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj’ has shown improvement in his rankings by moving up to 26th rank after grabbing six wickets against England.
Ravinder Jadeja still on the top of the list
While Ashwin sees a downfall in the rankings, Ravindra Jadeja is still on the top of the list of ICC player rankings for bowlers. In ICC Player Rankings for Test Batsmen, Hashim Amla this time has made it to the top 10 by reaching 7th position. Sri Lankan batsman, Asela Gunaratne has gained 19 positions to reach a career-high rank of 79th. While Shakib Al Hasan leads the list of all-rounders, South Africa’s Vernon Philander has climbed two places to reach the 5th position in the list.
