The organisers of the World Team Tennis in West Virginia have dismissed American Danielle Collins from the event. According to the organisers, she had broken COVID-19 protocols. The World Team Tennis is one of only a few live sports events that will allow fans in North America to attend the three-week regular season amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“We have dismissed Danielle Collins … for the remainder of the 2020 World TeamTennis season after breaking our COVID-19 protocols and leaving The Greenbrier Resort and the state of West Virginia,” WTT Chief Executive Carlos Silva said in a statement.
She further explained that the organisers put in the protocols and communicated them numerous times. The aim behind the protocols is to protect the health and safety of players, coaches and staff.
