SL after losing the last test will be hoping to draw the series at 1-1 by winning this match.

DAY 1

AUS won the toss and elected to bowl first to make a big total.

David Warner and Usman Khawaja came out to bat as Australia lost both of their wickets quite soon.

Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith handled the situation as they both started to build a much-needed partnership as both of them achieved their half-centuries followed by their centuries.

Both formed a partnership of 134 runs as Prabath Jayasuriya got the wicket of Marnus, his first test wicket.

By the end of the day, AUS was at a score of 298/5.

After the outstanding bowling performance by Prabath, it was time for the batsman to do their job.

Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karunaratne opened the innings for SL.

Mitchell Starc got the first wicket as Pathum got an edge and the catch was taken by Cameron Green.
