Women’s Premier League gets its top three teams as the first team directly heads towards the finals.

The remaining two will play against each other, and the team that wins will reach the finals.

Fixtures

The WPL (Women’s Premier League) started on February 23rd.

The first match was played between the Delhi Capitals women’s team and the Mumbai Indians women’s team.

In total, five teams participated in the tournament, out of which the top will head to the next stage.

Each team played two matches against all the other teams.

In the end, the team to end in first place directly heads towards the finals of the WPL.

Whereas the teams with the second and third spots will play an eliminator.

The team winning the eliminator will later play the final against the top team.

Matches

Till the first three matches, Delhi Capitals women were leading the table.

Followed by the Royal Challengers Women and then the UP Warriorz Women.

In fourth place were Mumbai Indians women, and in last place were Gujarat Giants women.

Points table

After the end of the league stage, the Delhi Capitals women were at the top of the table.

They won six out of their eight matches, as they only lost two matches, one against MI Women and the other against UPW Women’s.

Mumbai Indians women were the champions of the first WPL title.

Defending their title this year, they ended up in second place in the league matches.

They won five out of eight matches and lost only three.

They lost against RCB Women, DC Women, and UPW Women’s.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Women who fought hard in the end made it to the eliminator.

They won four matches out of eight and lost four matches.

They lost two matches against DC Women’s and one against MI Women’s and GG Women’s.

Further Stage

The eliminator will be played today, March 15th, in Delhi between the Mumbai Indians Women and the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women.

Whoever wins today will face the Delhi Capitals women on March 17th in Delhi.
