BCCI: The new sensations in modern cricket from men and women, Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana were in terrific form in all the formats they had played, They scored thousand of runs in the single year.

For their immense contribution to the game, Both Indian players were honored by the Wisden’s Leading Cricketers of the year 2018. Not only them, but Cricketers from around the world also honored with this award. Players like Tammy Beaumont (WOMEN) Jos Buttler (MEN) Sam Curran (MEN) also stand alongside Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana to receive the Wisden Cricketer’s award on basis of their Performances in the last 5 years.

The winners were announced with the release of the 156th edition of the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack on Wednesday.

Virat Kohli, who also became the first player in the history to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the year, ICC Men’s test player of the year and ICC ODI player of the year. Across all formats, he scored over 2735 runs surpasses Joe Root who is 700 runs behind him. Despite losing series in England and South Africa, Kohli still won these awards as he changed his overseas record by scoring 593 in the 5 test series against England. None of the other batsmen from the series was close to him.

Rashid becomes Twenty20 Cricketer of the year for second consecutive year

Moreover, Afghanistan Dynamite Rashid Khan was named the Leading Twenty20 Cricketer of the year for second consecutive year. The leg spinner from Afghanistan impressed everyone with his performances in the several leagues around the world by taking wickets and bowling economical spells.
