Guessed being the Iron Man while speaking in the national language? Well, now with offering its services in Hindi, Google Assistant becomes the first smart voice assistant to do so. It has rolled out Hindi language support for Google Assistant a few weeks ago also initially announcing that by the end of 2018, the voice assistant will be able to speak 30 languages. Apart from Danish, Dutch, Indonesian, Swedish, Thai and Norwegian, Hindi was among the first few languages that went worldwide.

For the time being, the Hindi Assistant is rolling out to Android phones 6.0+ (Marshmallow and above) and is soon coming to Android 5.0 Lollipop, iOS (9.1 and above) as well as Android Oreo (Go edition) devices.

The compatibility of smartphone users with Google Assistant has just got even more comfortable. Google Assistant is such a feature where you can ask Google to help you get things done in your world be it includes finding the fastest route to a location or just setting an alarm for the next day. Just wonder the ease of all this after we get the Hindi version.

Purvi Shah, Technical Program Manager, Assistant said “The Google Assistant is truly Indian, it’s your helpful dost that speaks our language and understands the things you care about, from finding biryani recipes to pulling up the latest cricket score or finding directions to the nearest ATM. In order to make it even more useful to Indians over time, developers and businesses can now build Actions for the Hindi Assistant through the developer platform Actions on Google. Once an action is built, you can just say “Ok Google, talk to” and access the service or content straight through your Google Assistant.”

The usage is very simple but you need to download the latest Google Search app to receive the new experience. Further, Google has built a dedicated site to highlight what Hindi commands you can use in the Google Assistant app. Just press and hold the home button or say “Ok Google” to get the virtual assistant up for your assistance. Similar to English, users can ask things and give commands in Hindi to Google Assistant.

The Google Assistant is powered by machine learning and can be used for many day to day life activities such as sending texts, finding routes, schedule reminders, set alarms and much more. All of these actions can now be done while speaking Hindi and Google has promised it will get better over time through constant development.
