Microsoft announced the acquisition of Lobe in the year 2018. Lobe is an AI-made-easy company offering simple visual interface and allowing people to make intelligent apps that can understand hand gestures, hear music, read handwriting and others without writing one line of code. Lobe makes machine learning more easy for people and helps them to train models without writing code. Microsoft has recently announced the public preview of Lobe two years after the acquisition of Lobe.

Lobe is available as a desktop app for Windows as well as Mac and uses open-source machine learning architectures and transfer learning for training custom machine learning models on the own machine of the user. The present version of Lobe learns to see at images using image classification by categorizing the image to a single label overall. Microsoft has been working to expand to more problems and data in the future versions.

It must be noted that Lobe doesn’t need an internet connection or logins. At present, Lobe can only output the machine learning model. The team of Microsoft Lobe is working on the collection of apps and tools to help run the models of the user without a code.

Bill Barnes, the manager for Lobe said that Lobe has been taking that is a sophisticated and complex technology piece and making it actively fun. They found that it inspires people and fills them with confidence so that they can use machine learning. When people gain confidence, they become more creative and start looking around and ask what other things they can do with that.
