Oppo is working on a new Apple iPhone X look alike smartphone called Oppo R13. As a matter of fact, the device almost resembles the Apple iPhone X in every department. From the bezel-less display to the bottom navigation bar.
The back casing is also identical, the company has replaced the Apple logo with the Oppo logo. Even the camera module on the back does have the similar dual camera setup with a quad LED flash in the middle. From the renders, it looks like the company might even use the same notch, which is expected to house the sensors like Face ID to incorporate the face unlock capability.
This might be the first Android smartphone to ditch the fingerprint scanner in favor of the facial recognition technology. However, in terms of price tag, the smartphone is expected to retail for a lesser price tag compared to the Apple iPhone X, which retails for ₹89,000 or ₹1,02,000 for the 64 GB and 256 GB storage variants.
As of now, there are no details on the tech-specifications. However, considering the price tag and the design, Oppo is likely to offer flagship class specifications. So, here is the speculated specifications list for the Oppo R13.
As this is a premium flagship smartphone, the mobile phone is expected to use a same 5.8-inch OLED touch display protected by 2.5D tempered glass on the top. In terms of resolution, the company might use the same high-quality QHD+ panel with 500+ pixels per inch. The smartphone is expected to be powered on top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core SoC, paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB onboard flash storage. The display will offer the same 18:9 aspect ratio, so, this device will have a bigger display inside a small chassis.
As this is an Oppo smartphone, we can expect a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 2 TB). In terms of connectivity, the smartphone is likely to offer a dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability. Other standard connectivity features like dual channel WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, and Bluetooth 5.0 are also present.
In terms of camera capability, the smartphone is expected to feature similar dual camera setup like the Apple iPhone X. The 12 MP telephoto lens and a 12 MP wide-angle lens with OIS on both the sensors are expected to offer X2 optical zoom and 4K video recording capability limited to 30 frames per second. For the selfie camera, the smartphone is expected to offer an 8 MP selfie camera with 1080p video recording capability.
