Facebook owned Whatsapp has added highest number of features in 2017 including video calling feature, Facebook status and much more. The upcoming and more interesting feature is Verified accounts on Whatsapp.
What is Whatsapp Verified account?
We have already seen Facebook, Twitter, Instagram with a verified account that has a small badge on them. Whatsapp verified account will work something similar to that with the similar design. If you already have a verified account number saved by generic name, the name that you have given will be displayed. If you don’t save any number, then the name prescribed by the verified account will be shown.
Application: This is bit unclear. As most of the Whatsapp users will only chat with the known people. Does this mean this will be just like Facebook or Instagram? As Whatsapp is planning to launch UPI based payment system, this could give an opportunity for the vendors as well.
As Whatsapp is running a non-profit business, this could be their idea to earn. Whatsapp is the only messenger, that doesn’t advertise or have any subscription charges.
However, one can block the Verified accounts, if he is not interested in the feature. So, Whatsapp could be the next PayTM, as it already has billions of user base world wide, these features can bring a fortune to the parent company Facebook.
Currently, the features are available in Android and windows-phone operating system at the beta stage.
