It looks like the Xiaomi is getting ready to launch their next mid-range Android smartphone in India and China. The much-anticipated successor for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is here.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 might be offered in the following models: The Redmi Note 5A, The Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Plus, which should offer more powerful specifications than the other models. The recently leaked retail package of the Xiaomi Mi Redmi 5 Plus suggest the same.

The upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Plus is expected to feature 5.5-inch IPS LCD 1080p screen, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Octa-core SoC, paired with either 3GB or 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicate micro SD card (probably Hybrid slot) along with dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability.

In terms of camera, the device might follow the dual-camera trend, one can expect the device to feature similar camera setups like the Xiaomi Mi A1 with 2X optical zoom and bokeh effect. The front-facing camera is expected to remain at 5 MP with 1080p video recording capability.

In terms of operating system, the device will feature Android Nougat 7.1.2 with MiUi 9 on the top, which packs plenty of features which are not offered in the stock Android Operating system. The battery might remain at 4000 mAh with fast charging capability via USB type C port.

Overall, this device will fill-in all the shortcomings from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, there will be a sure upgrade over the camera department, improved display quality (high-quality) display with better viewing angles) improved unibody design, just like the one found in the Xiaomi Mi A1.

What do you think about the upcoming Redmi Note 5? Are you planning to upgrade from Redmi note 4 or Redmi Note 3? What features are you expecting from the upcoming Xiaomi mid-range game changer? Share your views in the comments below.
