Pakistan won the first match of the Super Four against Bangladesh.

In total, six teams qualified for the Asia Cup that is happening in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The six teams were India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka.

For the first time in the history of cricket, the Nepal team qualified for the Asia Cup.

The six teams were divided into two groups, which consisted of three teams each.

Group A consisted of India, Pakistan, and Nepal.

Group B consisted of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka.

From the six teams, the top two from both groups qualified for the Super Four stage.

Match Details

The first match of the Super Four stage was played on September 6th in Lahore.

The first match of the Super Four was going to be played between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh team won the toss and elected to bat first.

Bangladesh Innings

Mohammad Naim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz opened the innings for Bangladesh.

Naseem Shah didn’t let them settle, as he took the wicket of Mehidy in the second over.

The top order wasn’t able to score runs as they lost their wickets in a short interval of time.

Bangladesh were in great trouble as their top orders weren’t able to score runs.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim handled the situation as they formed an important partnership.

They both also completed their half-centuries, as their knocks of 53 and 64 runs took them to a total of 193 runs.

Haris Rauf took four major wickets, while Naseem Shah took three wickets, stopping the Bangladesh batsmen.

Pakistan Innings

Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq opened the Innings for Pakistan.

They both gave a stable start to their teams as Shoriful Islam took the wicket of Fakhar.

Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan handled the situation as it went; they also completed their half-centuries.

The knocks of 78 and 63 runs by them took Pakistan closer to victory.

In the end, Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman helped Pakistan win their first match in the Super Four stage.
