New Delhi, July 11: Indian external affairs minister S. Jaishankar congratulated the members of Commonwealth on the sidelines of the 19th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM), hosted by United Kingdom (UK) in its capital London.
EAM Jaishankar has visited London for an official two days from 9-11 July to participate in the 19th CFAMM, during which held several bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the UK and other Commonwealth member countries.

He congratulated his counterparts and other members of the CFAMM on the 70th anniversary of Commonwealth, according to ANI news reports.

Jaishankar has on Wednesday held bilateral meetings with Jeremy Hunt, contender running for British prime minister, including other foreign ministers, and Bangladesh’s minister of state for foreign affairs, MD Shahriar Alam.
During his meeting with Alam, they discussed regional and bilateral issues of common interest. Jaishankar tweeted, “Pleasure to meet Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh @MdShahriarAlam. Reiterated the highest priority accorded to India-Bangladesh ties and discussed bilateral & regional issues of mutual interest.”

At the summit, Jaishankar underlined India is fulfilling all its Commonwealth commitments made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018.
He also underlined support for technical cooperation and projects related to SDG & Climate Change. A special bond with the small states & small island developing states.

The EAM also held a “warm” bilateral meeting with his Australian minister for foreign affair Marise Payne, during which they discussed the road map for India-Australia relationship. In a tweet, he said, “Looking forward to working closely with her.”
