Islamabad, Sep 4: The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are visiting Pakistan on Wednesday to hold a one-day conference with the Pakistan military and civil leadership on the pertaining regional situation, responding to Islamabad’s diplomatic outreach to international states over the pertaining developments in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Dawn news reports, Pak foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has conveyed the development while interacting with journalists at the Parliament House ahead of Foreign Office (FO) visit to chair a meeting of the Special Kashmir Cell on Tuesday in Islamabad.

“The two principal players of the OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) are coming (to Islamabad) tomorrow (Wednes­day). One chairs summit level (meetings) and the other heads ministerial segment,” Mr Qureshi said, in reference to the coming official visit of Saudi Arabia foreign minister Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir and UAE foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayad bin Sultan al-Nahyan to Islamabad today.

“We contacted the two foreign ministers and they are coming,” he said, adding both nations were crucial allies. Qureshi also said he would present Pakistan’s stance and Kashmir people’s viewpoint to them on the latest revoking of Article 370 – that offered special status to Jammu and Kashmir, by the Indian government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The visit development is a result of Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan’s telephonic conversation with Saudi-UAE ministers in the past few days.

“During the call, they reviewed relations between the two countries and the latest developments in the region,” a report said. Qureshi said Khan had had “good interaction” with UAE and Saudi Arabia’s crown princes.
