Triumph Motorcycles has confirmed that the upcoming Tiger 850 Sport will launch on 9th February in India. Further, the British bike manufacturer recently teased the poster of the upcoming motorcycle with the date of launch. Interestingly, when launched it is going to replace the current generation Triumph Tiger 900.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Triumph is all set to launch the Triumph Tiger 850 Sport in India on 9th February.
  • It will act as the replacement for the outgoing Triumph Tiger 900.
  • Price of the Triumph Tiger 850 Sport to be revealed on the date of launch.

In terms of design, the Tiger 850 Sport comes with a muscular fuel tank and a beak at the front that makes the look a little aggressive. However, there are multiple features that are available on the all-new adventure tourer. The list includes a large fuel tank, blacked-out alloy wheels, an all-LED headlight and a 5-inch TFT instrument console among others.

The engine that powers the all-new Triumph Tiger 850 Sport is an 888cc three-cylinder engine. It is the same engine that used to power the outgoing Tiger 900. However, it is retuned to produce 85PS of power with a peak torque of 82Nm. Transmission duties on the Tiger 850 Sport are handled by a 6-speed gearbox.

In terms of safety, the bike is available with a dual-channel ABS, switchable traction control and two ride modes on offer. The two ride modes include Road and Rain which adjust all other parameters according to the requirement.

Don’t expect the upcoming Tiger 850 Sport to be a high-end offroader bike. Infact, Triumph is trying to offer a more comfortable adventure tourer in the form of Tiger 850 Sport. When launched in India, it will directly compete against the BMW F 750 GS. The British bike manufacturer has not revealed the price of the all-new bike yet. However, it will be available with a price tag of somewhere between Rs.9 Lakh to Rs.9.5 Lakh (ex-showroom).
