Talking about the design language, the all-new Kawasaki Z650 comes with a sharper headlamp cowl with LED lights for an enhanced throw. The ergonomics of the bike is very well finished with a well-contoured seat to help the rider stay comfortable during long rides as well. Other basic but important highlights are the muscular fuel tank, underbelly exhaust and the new ‘Candy Lime Green Type 3’ shade helps the new Z650 to stand out in terms of look.
Feature-wise, the updated bike will continue to sport a full LED lighting setup, a digital instrument console and smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. The fuel tank capacity of Z650 is rated at 15-litres with an overall weight of somewhere around 191kgs.
Mechanicals
Based on a high-tensile steel trellis frame, the Z650 sits on a 41mm telescopic fork up front. At the rear, it comes with a preload-adjustable monoshock setup that performs its duty flawlessly. The naked sports bike comes with disc brakes on either end with dual-channel ABS offered as standard equipment for precise braking. Also, it will continue to feature 17-inch Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres for supreme grip.
Engine
Powering the new Kawasaki Z650 is the same 649cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that we have witnessed on the outgoing model. It is now compliant with the BS6 emission norms and therefore, the overall output is rated at 68PS and 64Nm. Transmission duties for the setup are managed by a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch available as standard.
