2024 Bajaj Chetak: Design, Features & Powertrain

Just like the outgoing model, the updated Chetak feels proportionate from all four ends. The major updates, although are related to the features, but we still would like to elaborate a little more on the design front. To begin with, the front end of the electric scooter looks sharp, and just like the vintage scooters that were sold in the past, this one features a round headlamp assembly. Surprisingly, the willingness to keep it more aligned with the old Chetak, Bajaj has not compromised with modern features.

In terms of features, Chetak is now available with a host of newly introduced gizmos, including a 5-inch TFT display. The best part about this display is that it is full of colours and feels vibrant. Obviously, the manufacturer is offering it on the Premium variant and with that, it brings a lot of additional benefits making the scooter more user friendly. The features that can be toggled through the display are turn-by-turn navigation, play pause and change of music and call alerts, among others.

If we dive a little deeper into the features list, one might be able to find that the updated Chetak now gets self-cancelling blinkers, an electronic handle and steering lock, seat switches and even a helmet box lamp, keeping it still relevant in today’s modern world. Also, for people who want to be more environment friendly, the “Green Score” provided by the scooter will inform how much money you are saving while keeping the carbon footprint in check.

Someone buying the new Chetak Premium with TecPac (exclusive on the Chetak website) will also get Hill Hold Mode as an addition.

Coming to the performance, the updated scooter uses a 3.2kWh battery pack that unlocks an ARAI-claimed range of 127 kilometres. Thankfully, it is also capable of fast charging, making it more useful. The top speed claimed by Bajaj of the all-new Chetak now stands at an impressive – 73 kmph.

Now something else that Bajaj boasts about is the metal body of the new Chetak. In addition to this, the IP-67-rated TFT screen available on the scooter makes it tough to sustain.
