Audi S5 Sportback Platinum Edition: Here’s Everything You Need To Know

Exterior

The exterior of the S5 Sportback Platinum Edition has been tweaked to give it an exclusive look. For starters, the headlights on the limited-run sports sedan are now Matrix LED units and that too with laser light tech from the brand. Then, there are several other minor changes in the form of a new package that brings black finishing to the front grille. To add a sporty touch, the brake callipers are now red, and there are several ‘S’ badges to tell that you are driving a sportier version of it.

Audi also confirmed that the new S5 Sportback Platinum Edition will be available in only two exclusive paint shades. Those are – Distinct Green and Mythos Black to be precise.

Interior

As soon as we enter the cabin of this new S5, the changes are evident but are limited to the visual ones. For instance, it now features Sports Seat Plus finished in Magma Red Nappa leather and that too with a massage function. The carmaker has also used carbon fibre excessively, but that only uplifts the premium feel. Feature-wise, it is similar to the standard model with a panoramic sunroof, large touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control and whatnot. You just have to name it.

Engine

Under the hood, the limited-run S5 features a potent 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 (petrol) engine, and just like the standard model, the unit available on this one propels 354 horsepower and 500Nm. Audi confirms that it comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and can clock a triple-digit speed in just 4.8 seconds.

Rivals

Audi S5 lock horns with BMW M340i in India. But the interesting part about this rivalry is that the latter is Rs.10 Lakhs cheaper, making it a VFM product.
