Tata Motors has been doing a great job with the Dark Editions. If you remember, the Indian automaker lately introduced an exact version of Altroz, Nexon and even Safari just because of the increasing demand for the same. Of course, the first Dark Edition made its debut on the Harrier and thankfully, it was a hit product in no time. Tata is still managing to sell an impressive number of Harrier Dark Edition but from today, it has to face intense rivalry from the all-new Hyundai Creta Knight Edition that has been launched with a price tag starting at Rs.13.51 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Want to learn more about it? Here’s take a look at the special edition Creta down below.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Hyundai Creta Knight Edition is now available in India.
  • It will be sold in both 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines.
  • Also comes with several cosmetic and feature updates.

The Indian arm of the Korean brand doesn’t want to lessen the options for the end buyers. As a result, Hyundai has confirmed that the all-new Creta Knight Edition will be sold in four different trim levels. The entry-level variant of the special edition SUV is going to cost you Rs.13.51 Lakhs. Meanwhile, it is the top-end diesel automatic variant that comes with a price tag fixed at Rs.18.18 Lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Wondering what all changes can be witnessed on the Knight Edition? Well, there are many but most of them are cosmetic ones just like what Tata offers on the Harrier.

On the outside, the special edition SUV comes with a gloss black grille that thankfully has received a contrasting red colour for a sportier touch. Other changes in the form of similarly treated skid plates on either end, darkened – roof rails, headlamp and taillamp boundaries, C-Pillar, etc. are also a part of the update. To make it more exclusive, Hyundai is even offering body-coloured door handles, ‘Knight Edition’ badging and black alloy wheels. The brake callipers on the front wheels are finished in Red to compliment the overall finishing.

In terms of features, Hyundai Creta Knight Edition remain more or less similar to the variant it is based upon. Talking in general, it will be loaded with a massive touchscreen infotainment system, LED headlights, panoramic sunroof and a multifunction steering wheel. If you remember, the automaker recently announced that it will be offering a tyre pressure monitoring system across the entire range. Surprisingly, that’s true for the Knight Edition as well.

Under the hood, there are no changes and therefore, buyers can choose between the petrol and diesel variants according to their requirements. Multiple gearbox options are also there so that convenience doesn’t take a hit.

Rivals

We know, that Harrier is not the direct competition to the all-new Creta because the former is available with a slightly hefty price tag. The only reason why we have compared it to the former SUV is because of the Dark Edition that has become very popular in India.
