Kia Sonet was updated for MY2024 a few days ago, and now, the carmaker has announced that it will be accepting bookings for the same.

Also, the Korean automaker has announced a ‘K-Code’ that will provide existing customers the privilege to skip the waiting queue. Surprisingly, this can also be redeemed by friends and family of the existing Kia owners.

  • The price announcement for the SUV is expected soon.

The exterior of the new Sonet is refreshed, all thanks to the new headlamp assembly that extends all the way down with long DRLs. Even the side profile now feels upmarket because of the new alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, it is more or less similar to the outgoing model in terms of theme. However, in the rear world, several panels, including the steering wheel, instrument cluster, infotainment system and AC vents, have undergone change.

Features

The features that need to be highlighted on the 2024 Sonet are:

  • BOSE Premium 7-Speaker Surround Sound System
  • Dual connected screen (10.25-inch)
  • 360-degree camera
  • Rear door sunshade
  • Air purifier with virus protection

For the first time, Kia Sonet will also feature Level-1 ADAS that comes with features like Front Collision Warning, Front Collision Avoidance, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Warning and High Beam Assist.

For occupants’ safety, it is loaded with 6 airbags, ABS, stability control and Hill Start/Descent control, among others.

Engine & Transmission Options

Just like the outgoing model that was available with three engine options, the new Sonet is also available with all three of them. However, the only difference now is that the diesel engine is being sold with a 6-speed manual transmission. This way, the entry-level variants of Sonet are being sold with a 1.2-litre petrol engine; then comes the 1.0-litre turbocharged engine with an iMT and DCT gearboxes, and lastly, it is the diesel engine that is available with a manual, iMT and AT gearboxes.

Rivals

The all-new Sonet will continue its rivalry with some well-established sub-four metre SUVs such as Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300, to name a few.
