Korean car manufacturer, Kia Motors is planning to start the retail sales in India during the second half of 2019. The Indian market is on the top of the company’s list of priorities. Kia Motors, which is a subsidiary of Hyundai family has decided a series of roadshows in order to attract several dealer partners.

Yong S Kim, head of sales & marketing, Kia Motors said, “India is a unique market, and it’s important to Kia that we learn from those who have a deep understanding of local buyers and their needs. Like other regions where Kia already has a presence, we will offer Indian customers the highest levels of satisfaction. Our dealer partners hold the key to achieving this”.

The Motor is already manufacturing cars for both domestic and export markets near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is soon going to open a new manufacturing facility in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh. For this Kia Motors, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Andhra Pradesh. The Korean manufacturer is investing about ₹707 crore for its first production facility in the country.

At the Andhra Pradesh manufacturing plant, it will be able to produce up to 300,000 new cars each year, exclusively for the Indian market and will incorporate facilities for stamping, welding, painting, and assembly. It will also be home to numerous supplier company facilities.

The company said the new facility in Anantapur will allow the company to start selling its models in India, and benefit from further sustainable sales growth, locally and internationally. Furthermore, the region’s fast-developing supply chain network and skilled labor force were other key reasons for new investment by Kia Motors.
