Exterior
The day the SUV was teased we thought that it would be a typical Maruti Suzuki product. However, Fronx is a product capable of turning the tables with its design.
At the front, it reminds you of the elder sibling, the all-new Grand Vitara, and proudly features a similar NEXWave grille wrapped with two DRLs at the top. The lower part features a headlamp with a massive air dam lower down.
The side profile of Fronx features massive wheel arches along with cladding to give it an SUV-kind of look. Whereas, the rear end will also surprise the customers with a set of stylish LED taillamps, which run from one end to the other in case, they opt for the top-end variant.
Surprisingly, the colour options are ample and Maruti Suzuki claims that there are ten shades including mono and dual-tone.
Interior & Safety
The cabin of the Fronx is a typical Maruti Suzuki affair and the new design language from NEXA counterparts has been carried on. The brand claims that the SUV is loaded with lots of features. However, to name a few, it comes with a 9-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 360-degree camera and wireless charger.
Other features in the form of an ARKAMYS surround sound system and connected car tech have also been introduced to make it loaded enough.
In terms of safety, Fronx is equipped with 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ABS with EBD and rollover mitigation among others.
Engine, Transmission and Mileage
Maruti Suzuki’s main aim was to draw customer’s attention and the brand has been successful in doing so. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, proudly called Boosterjet, has made its return on the Fronx and it looks like prospects are desperately looking forward to it.
Fronx is available with either this Boosterjet engine that churns out 100PS and 147.6Nm or a tried and tested 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which we have already witnessed on the Baleno. Output for the latter power unit stands at 89.7PS and 113Nm.
Now, since the fuel efficiency from these units depends upon the engine-gearbox combination, here is the list of the ARAI-certified mileage:
