Due to the introduction to the BS6 emission norms, many carmakers now are relying on the petrol engine for the update. Skoda discontinued the Skoda Kodiaq 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine on April 1 after the BS6 emission norms came into effect.

However, Skoda is planning to introduce the all-new 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine. The new petrol engine produces a massive 187BHP of power at around 42000-6000 rpm. Meanwhile, the torque output is 320Nm at 1500-4200 rpm. The new 2.0-litre TSI engine to be mated with a 7-speed DSG transmission.

Skoda now has postponed the arrival of the Skoda Kodiaq till 2021 due to the pandemic. Skoda India head Zac Hollis confirmed the news related to the delay on Twitter.

The new Skoda Kodiaq 2.0L TSI will offer the same Style, Scout and the L&K variant. The 4X4 variant of the Skoda Kodiaq with the powerful 2.0L TSI engine to be a more capable offroader as well.

The other SUVs to rival the Skoda Kodiaq will be the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4, Kia Carnival, BMW X1, and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport when compared on the basis of price. However, the Skoda Kodiaq mainly will be competing with the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and the Honda CR-V.

The BS6 Skoda Kodiaq to be priced at ₹30 lakhs onwards. The Skoda Kodiaq is also expected to launch in India after the arrival of the Skoda Kodiaq BS6 variant.
