Lexus, a luxury vehicle division of the Japanese company Toyota, globally launched their latest luxury car Lexus ES 300h in April this year. The latest ES is built on Lexus front-wheel-drive Global Architecture. The car is a five-passenger hybrid luxury sedan, front wheel drive with a full tank capacity of 17.2 gals.

The new ES has a bold and fierce look, the increase in the size of the trademark spindle grille has only added to the outstanding looks of the car. Not only the spindle grille but all the size of the headlights have been designed to look sharper and larger. What makes the new ES even more dynamic is the skilfully sculpted boot and slick LED tail lamps. The car comes with a dashboard that has been slightly angled towards the driver. On the dashboard is a 12.3 inch infotainment system that operates via touchpad or voice recognition technology.

The front suspension of the car has independent MacPherson stunts with coil springs, gas-pressurized shock absorbers, and stabilizer bar. The rear suspension is independent, dual-link MacPherson stunts with coil spring, gas-pressurized shock absorbers, and stabilizer bar. The breaks, 11.6-in ventilated discs in the front and 11.0-in solid discs rear. The braking system has four-wheel power-assisted discs with four-sensor, four-channel Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, brake assist, and regenerative functions. The steering, electronic power steering system (EPS). The headroom for both front and rear is 37.5 with a moonroof. The legroom front and rear is 41.9 and 40.0 respectively. The car has an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission with intelligence (ECVT1).

The launch of the Lexus ES 300h in India is scheduled to take place in the month of August this year. The new car is said to enter the country with more features than the predecessor which includes a power-recline feature for the rear seats. The ES is expected to have the option to slide the front passenger seat forward with the press off a button on the B-pillar which in turn would free up legroom. Also included to the numerous features of this stunning car is a Mark Levinson 19 speaker sound system.

The car is also sold in a pure petrol version but it is said that only the hybrid ES 300h will be sold in India. The drive comes for a hybrid powertrain that’s based on a 2.5-litre petrol engine and the combined system output is 218hp. The Lexus hybrid drive draws power from both electric and petrol motor, resulting in surprising acceleration and instant torque. The ES 300h delivers excelling engine power with carbon emission as low as 130g/km and has the Super Ultra-low Emission Vehicle rating (SULEV).

Just as the earlier models of Lexus, the new ES 300h will be imported into the country complete as one unit from Japan hence will be subjected to full duty. The cost of the new ES 300h will be around the vicinity of the current cars that is about Rs.60 lakh, which means that the price of the Lexus will continue being more expensive than all their rivals.

All these phenomenal features of the Lexus ES 300h goes on to prove the strive for perfection as the motto of Lexus suggests “The Relentless Pursuit of Perfection.”
