Most of us think of adventure when we hear the word ‘SUV’ but most of the compact SUVs in India are not that hardcore off-roaders. With the festive season arriving, Volkswagen has decided to market the Taigun as something you can rely on for adventure. Therefore, here we are introducing you to the all-new Volkswagen Taigun Trail Edition.

Volkswagen Taigun Trail Edition: What’s new?

The German marque says that the Taigun Trail Edition is launched to push the upcoming customers more towards adventure. On the outside, Taigun does feel like a more adventure-oriented SUV, all thanks to the Trail-inspired body graphics, Black Belmont alloy wheels and ‘Trail Edition’ badging that makes it look more rugged. Then, to make it more attractive the wing mirrors are now finished in Black and at the top, there’s a Black Roof Foil.

The carmaker even confirmed that the Trail Edition will only be sold in three shades, including Candy White, Reflex Silver and Carbon Steel Grey.

Unlike the exterior, the interior of the Taigun remains mostly unchanged. However, to make it a little special, Volkswagen has introduced Trail theme seat covers, puddle lamps and sporty foot pedals. Other changes in the form introduction of a dual-camera Dashcam that comes with several features such as a 140-degree Ultra-Wide Viewing Angle, Loop Recording, Impact Sensor, Motion Detection, Parking Monitoring, Automatic recoding with engine start, etc making it a feature-loaded SUV.

As specified by Volkswagen India, the new Trail Edition of Taigun is available with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine known for producing 150 horsepower and 250Nm. The carmaker also confirms that it is being sold with only a 6-speed manual gearbox.

While addressing the media during the launch event, Mr Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Volkswagen Passenger Car India, said, “This festive season, we are amplifying the excitement with the introduction of the Taigun Trail edition. It’s a perfect combination for an enthusiast, powered by a 1.5-litre TSI EVO and showcasing sportiness with its muscular and rugged design appeal of an SUV. With this introduction, we are strengthening our GT Edge Collection and expanding the choices for customers.”

The new Trail Editon of Taigun is priced at Rs.16.30 Lakh onwards (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
