Royal Enfield has revealed its highly anticipated bike – the new RE Himalayan 452. In terms of updates, it is new in every sense and of course, an enhanced version of the old Himalayan 411.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 452: Exploring The Adventure Tourer

Powering the new Himalayan is a 451.65cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine that churns out 40.2PS and 40Nm making it powerful when compared to the older model. The same unit is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist available for the first time on the Himalayan.

Now, what else is new? Almost everything including the dimension numbers. The bike is now 2245mm long, 852mm wide, 1316mm tall and comes with a wheelbase of 1510mm. The improvement does not stop there as the ground clearance of Himalayan 452 is 230mm and from hereon seat can be adjusted in terms of height ranging from 805mm to 825mm. The manufacturer has confirmed that the fuel tank capacity of the bike stands at 17 litres and the kerb weight now stands at 196 kg.

In terms of design, the bike is similar to the older model but there are panels, that definitely help the updated range to give it a refreshed look. Royal Enfield, just to enhance the style quotient a step further, has introduced five new shades for the Himalayan 452 including – Kamet White, Hanle Black, Slate Himalayan Salt, Slate Poppy Blue and Kaza Brown.

On the mechanical front, the bike uses a 43mm USD fork at the front and for the rear, there is a mono shock unit. Both of them get 200mm travel making it capable off the road. Even the tyres are new with the front wheel measuring 21-inches and the rear wheel 17-inches. For enough stopping power, the bike features 320mm disc and 270mm disc for the front and the rear respectively. Other than this, there is a switchable dual-channel ABS available as a part of the update.

Feature-wise, the new bike is loaded with a 4-inch fully digital rider’s display. Thankfully, it comes with smartphone connectivity along with navigation. There are three ride modes including – Eco, ABS On and ABS Off on offer.
