All India IDBI Bank Contract Employees Federation has publicly announced for the strike. This strike will be held on 16 June to protest against the bank’s decision. The bank has decided to lower down the wages of their outsourced contract employees. This decision will affect the employees as well as their families.
These contract employees are working as sweepers, security men, peon, cash peon, cash sorter and on many other posts too.
“The decision to effect large-scale retrenchment of these employees is arbitrary and impugned”, says Adhir Kumar Ray, General Secretary of the Employee Federation of IDBI Bank Recruitment.
The Employee Federation has asked the bank to review their decision, but they remain silent. Now, this silence has resulted in a strike on 16 June.
In context to this strike, Employee Federation is going to meet on 12 June in Kochi with all concerned officials.
