Due to the current situation, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (GCMMF) which markets all its products under the brand of Amul has come up with different type of plans for the states which are located outside the Gujarat. It would help farmers in having income.

On Saturday, while addressing all the stake holders and union Ramsinh Parmar who is GCMMF Chairman said that since March, the consumption of milk has increased said. Officials reported that Gujarat has seen extreme hike in the sale of dairy whiteners like never before.

In April, all the milk cooperatives, who are attached to Amul have been selling nearly 255 to 260 litres of milk everyday which is 15% higher than April 2019. For the month of March, Amul has sold around 140 lakh litres of milk per day to all of its consumers, which has now lessend to 125 lakh litres per day.

One of the main reasons behind this is shut down of hotels, restaurants, catering businesses. Around 15-50% the sale of Amul has hiked because of the increase demand of sales of paneer, ghee, butter and tetra-pack milk. 70% downfall has been procured processing plants outside Gujarat after it was decided to also purchase milk from farmers who were originally not part of the unions affiliated to Amul.

Parmar stated that company has come with the plan of purchasing milk from the farmers outside the state to sell their milk to fight the current situation. Amul has been ensuring safety at its best. All of them have been given some guidelines to keep themselves safe.
