Recently, in a blog post Amazon said that “Today, we are proud to announce that our original 100,000 jobs pledge is filled and those new employees are working at sites across the US helping to serve customers. We continue to see increased demand as our teams support their communities, and are going to continue to hire, creating an additional 75,000 jobs to help serve customers during this unprecedented time.”

US is suffering a lot from the pandemic COVID-19 virus. Daily wage workers are in a panic to find food and shelters. Earlier, Amazon said that it will give food and shelter for the people who are in need. Amazon has extended its helping hand for the US and had filled the 100,000  jobs.

Amazon sees an increase in demands so, they are going to hire an additional 75,000 jobs to help and serve customers during this unprecedented time.

In a blog post, Amazon said that “We know many people have been economically impacted. Most of the jobs in areas like hospitality, restaurants, and travel are lost or furloughed as part of this crisis. We welcome anyone out of work to join us at Amazon until things return to normal and their past employer is able to bring them back.”

Order capacity increases by 60%

Amazon has recently boosted order capacity by 60% in recent weeks and is adding more. That is still not enough to meet demand from the millions of subscribers to Amazon’s Prime services.

Amazon also said that it has added pick-up to roughly 70 new Whole Foods locations, bringing its total to more than 150 stores. Around 480 Whole Foods stores are open in the United States. Amazon is also adjusting opening hours at some Whole Foods locations so employees can use the reduced shopping hours to fulfill online orders.
