The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has released the detailed schedule and guidelines for Improvement, Compartment exams of Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) students.

This exams are being conducted for those students who are unsatisfied with their Board Exam results based on the evaluation criteria or were unable to qualify in this exams.

According to the official schedule, both the exams will simultaneously commence from August 16. The exams for class 10 will continue till September 2 while for Class 12, the exams will end on September 7.

The results for improvement and compartment exams for both the classes will be declared on September 20. The individual scorecards of students will be made available on the official website of CISCE.

Updates for compartment students

CISCE has mentioned that the status of students will be changed from PCNA (Pass Certificate Not Awarded) to PCA (Pass Certificate Awarded) if they qualify in the compartment exams.

Such students must return their original marksheet issued earlier to the council. After that, the students can collect their revised marks statement and pass certificate from respective schools.

Similar provision is also applicable for those students who fail to qualify in the compartment exams. The Council will issue a revised statement of marks for such students as per their results in this exams.

About Improvement Examinations

The Council has also notified that the students who are unable to appear at the test centre for improvement exams on scheduled dates will be marked as absent and the previously awarded scores will remain unchanged.

In case if any student is awarded changed marks after improvement exams, then the students must return their previously issued marksheet and pass certificate to their school for updation.

The marks awarded in improvement exams must be considered as the final scores in Board Exam results for 2021. The updated marks statement and pass certificate will be issued by the Council later.
