The Delhi University (DU) has announced that admissions in undergraduate programmes for academic session 2021-22 will take place on the basis of Cutoff scores and merit.

As the UGC has decided not to conduct CUCET exam in 2021, the admissions in Delhi University will be held using the process similar to previous years which will be completely online.

The DU will begin registration process for admissions in UG courses from August 2. Interested candidates can enroll themselves till August 31 on the official of website of university.

As of 2021, the Delhi University has planned to offer 69,554 seats in UG programmes and around 20,000 seats in PG programmes across various disciplines like science, arts and commerce.

The announcement regarding this information was made by Mr. Rajeev Gupta, the Chairman for admissions at DU, in a virtual press conference held on July 17.

Mr. Gupta said that the University will follow past year practices for admissions in UG courses. He mentioned that if CUCET was approved, the University would have implemented it this year.

The admissions department of DU along with principals of colleges has began to plan the modalities for deciding cutoff scores in order to maintain the number of admissions granted and seats available.

Once the Class 12 results for CBSE, ICSE and State Boards are declared, The Delhi University will also release the list of Cutoff scores for all undergraduate courses.

Prof. P C Joshi, the Vice-chancellor of DU, has informed that Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) for admissions in postgraduate courses will be conducted by NTA as per the decided schedule.

The registration process for admissions at Delhi University in postgraduate, MPhil and PhD programmes will begin from July 26 and will continue till August 21.

The DU Vice-chancellor also mentioned that the Fee structure and eligibility criteria will be kept similar to last year, which will be in favour of students during the current pandemic situations.

However, the University has made a minor change in the application procedure. The students can now use certificates from past 4 years for admissions in sports and extracurricular activities (ECA).
