The Rajasthan Directorate of Education (DoE) is all set to inaugurate the first ever government English medium school in the pink city-Jaipur. It is being open in the remembrance of 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The school will come up in Manasarovar, Jaipur and commence from July 1st, 2019. The DoE, Bikaner has issued an order a few days back to open one English medium school in every district headquarters called as Mahatma Gandhi Government School.

To open an English medium school, new building will not be constructed but ones already functioning as government school will be converted for the purpose.

District Education Officer of Jaipur, Ram Chandra Pilani said, “We have received orders to convert the government school into English medium one. The students already studying will be shifted to different schools and new admission will start. We have chosen a school that has less enrollment so that more students will not get affected due to the change in process. This school has just 15 students, who will be given enough time to adjust.”

As per the reports from TNN The school is being open for classes 1st-12th. Only that school will be converted that has its own building with all the facilities like furniture, classrooms, toilets, teachers appointed. New teachers will be appointed for the school through interview including the principal of the school.

An official said that everything has to be done keeping in mind about the focus of the project, which is to develop English medium school’s in the state at the time when studies in English is in trend and people are spending lakhs of rupees to get their child English medium studies as it is helpful in all stages of life.
