The supreme court of india has received a plea demanding the cancellation of CBSE board exams for class 12. The petition is filled by Senior advocate Mamta Sharma who has urged the court for making a final decision over the issue as respective authorities has still not made any call on their own.

The plea has been sought to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council of Indian School Certificate Exam (CISCE). The plea has mentioned that it is unfair to force students to appear in exams during such unfavourable conditions due to corona virus pandemic. Even exams by online mode can not be conducted because a large number students lack required facilities.

It is further added that the CBSE and CISCE should start planning to design an alternate assessment methodology to evaluate students and declare their results rather then waiting for situations to get normal and conduct offline exams. This will delay the students to take admissions in higher education institutes and could even result in losing a whole year for them.

The Boards have been still looking for a window in June to conduct exams since they are postponed once from May. The CBSE has stated that they will review the situations in the month end and will inform students atleast 15 days prior to the new exam dates.

Recently, the Board has also denied the rumours which are being circulated around tha cancellation of class 12 board exams. The board have clarified that speculation made in media reports have no grounds because the board or either the government has made no decision on this issue and is completely focusing on the preparation of class 10 results.

The students has already started campaigns using social media to make their demands reach the goverment and respective authorities regarding the Exams and challenges being faced by them in this tough times. The plea filled will be a major supporting factor for this campaigns.
