The Vellore Institute of Technology(VIT) has decided to cancel its entrance exams due to coronavirus pandemic. The institute stated that it shall consider the class 12 board exam marks for its admissions for the academic year 2020-2021. The institute received around two lakh applications from various cities.

The university said in a statement that “Conducting VITEEE-2020 in various cities with rising infections has become risky and dangerous. To keep the student and parent community safe, VITEEE-2020 stands cancelled. The admission will be based on Class XII / Pre-university marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics/ biology.”

The weightage will be given for those who possess a score in the JEE examination. The required form to do so have been posted in the official website- www.vit.ac.in. For further information, the students are advised to visit the website.
