‘A Suitable Boy’: It’s a wrap for Ishaan Khatter on Mira Nair’s BBC series

Actor Ishaan Khatter, who was last seen in Shashank Khaitan 2018 directorial Dhadak, has completed the shoot of his upcoming series A Suitable Boy. The Beyond the Clouds actor took to his Instagram account to make the announcement and wrote that he can not wait for his fans to watch the show. He also shared a picture of himself with Mira Nair and rest of the team.


Besides Khatter as the male protagonist Maan Kapoor, the series will feature an ensemble cast that will include Tabu as courtesan as Saeeda Bai, Tanya Maniktala as the protagonist Lata Mehra, Rasika Dugal as her sister Savita Kapoor, Shefali Shah as Rupa Mehra (mother of Lata Mehra and Savita Kapoor), Vijay Varma as Rasheed (a tutor to Saeeda Bai’s sister), Randeep Hooda as Billy Irani, Vivek Gomber as Arun Mehra (Lata’s elder brother), Ram Kapoor as Mahesh Kapoor (a renowned politician and father of Maan Kapoor), Shahana Goswami as Meenakshi and many others.

Produced by Lookout Point for BBC One, A Suitable Boy is an adaptation of Vikram Seth’s popular novel of the same name. The screenplay has been written by Welsh writer Andrew Davies who is best known for House of Cards and A Very Peculiar Practice, and his adaptations of Vanity Fair, Pride and Prejudice, Middlemarch, and War & Peace.

Directed by Mira Nair, the six part series is slated to go on air in June next year.
