The actor Akshay Kumar is back in news with his new philanthropic act. The actor earlier was in news for donating a hefty amount of ₹5 crores to the families of Pulwama Martyrs. A source said that the actor will be handing over the cheque to the Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Akshay also spearheaded the campaign to encourage others to donate to the families of Indian soldiers.
The actor took to his twitter to address the same and wrote,“#Pulwama is something we cannot & will not forget. We’re all angry & it’s time to act. So act now, donate to the martyrs of Pulwama on http://www.bharatkeveer.gov.in There’s no better way to pay homage to them & show your support. This is the only official site, pls don’t fall prey to fakes. (sic)”

In midst of all the tension, Akshay Kumar also made time to attend another charity event. A source said, “Akshay and Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, were present at a samuh vivaah (mass wedding) of lesser-privileged persons. Around 100 couples tied the knot under the same roof. Akshay is said to have given each bride a gift of ₹1 lakh. The money was deposited into their individual accounts. It was the actor’s way of ensuring that these newly-married couples have something substantial to begin their lives with”.
