Amitabh Bachchan's Father: Anil Kapoor!

Anil Kapoor is a veteran actor who has been entertaining us for the last four decades with his performances.

The actor recently took to Twitter to celebrate 34 years of his iconic film ‘Meri Jung’, directed by Subhash Ghai.

Anil shared an interesting anecdote from the film’s inception, mentioning that it was writer Javed Akhtar who had recommended his name to Ramesh Sippy who was supposed to direct it when it was called ‘Shatranj.’

He wrote: “Very few people know that @Javedakhtarjadu saab recommended my name for Shataranj which going to be directed by Ramesh Sippy. Later, that same script was named Meri Jung & was directed by @SubhashGhai1 saab, & which went on to be the film that changed my life. #34YearsofMeriJung

Anil also shared his picture with Javed Akhtar and the poster of the film ‘Meri Jung’ in his tweet.

‘Meri Jung’ was written by Javed Akhtar and directed by Subhash Ghai. It proved to be a major box-office success and met with critical acclaim.

Anil’s role of Arun Verma in the film proved to be a breakthrough role for his career and catapulted his filmography. He also earned a Filmfare nomination for Best Actor for it.

Anil was last seen in Indra Kumar’s ensemble comedy film ‘Total Dhamaal’, which met with negative reviews but proved to be a commercial success.
