Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone, who was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2018 film Padmaavat, has unveiled a new poster of her upcoming film Chhapaak. She took to her social media account to share the poster and wrote, “Malti. Unfettered. Uninhibited. Unputdownable. Ab voh khush hai toh hai!”
In the poster, Padukone can be seen wearing a blue shalwaar kameez dancing and enjoying herself. In the background, we can see the decorations suggesting a party or some other special occasion.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal who was attacked at the age of 15 by a 32 years old man.
“Deepika is going to be a revelation in Chhapaak. It is a completely different side of Deepika which people will see. When I say that I don’t mean just the look or prosthetics, it’s also about going into the second level of the character – the body language, the gestures and the general energy,” Gulzar told news agency PTI in November last year.
Written by Meghna Gulzar and Atika Chohan, the film is produced by Fox Star Studios, Deepika Padukone, Govind Singh Sandhu, and Meghna Gulzar. Deepika Padukone will play Malti, a character inspired from Agarwal whereas Vikrant Massey will be seen as Amol, a social activist (and later Malti’s partner) inspired by the real life character of Alok Dixit.
Chhapaak is scheduled to be theatrically released in India on 10 January 2020.
