Deepika Padukone is one of the most successful actress of today’s generation. The actress has not only given critically acclaimed performances but has also delivered box office mega hits.
While her fans and admirers are waiting for her upcoming film Chhapaak based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, the rumours were rife that the actress would be starring with her ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor in Luv Ranjan’s next. But it seems those rumours have been put aside now and the Padmaavat actress will be next doing a Karan Johar’s production after she completes 83 with her husband Ranveer Singh.
According a report on Bollywood Bubble, Deepika Padukone will be collaborating with Karan Johar for her next film that will be a “messy romance”. The film will be directed by Dharma Productions’ in-house director Shakun Batra who has previously directed Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu of 2012 and the critically and commercially successful family drama Kapoor & Sons of 2016 for the banner.
The actress recently talked about doing a film next year that will be a messy romance. While in conversation with Rajeev Masand and Anupama Chopra at the Jio MAMI Movie Mela With Star, the actress said, “I have found a film that I am likely to do early next year but it’s not light. It’s still a messy romance, it’s quite dark but still in the romantic space.”
Although the details of the project including the plot are yet unknown, it has been reported that the film will go on floors after Deepika’s Meghna Gulzar directed Chhapaak releases in January 2020.
The report says that DP has okayed the project and and the official announcement will be made as soon as the paperwork is done.
Deepika’s this film comes as a respite for Shakun Batra after his ambitious film based on the life of the controversial Godman Rajneesh aka Osho was shelved earlier this year.
