Actor Jaaved Jaffrey’s son Meezaan Jaffrey is all set to star in ace filmmaker Priyadarshan’s upcoming film Hungama 2. A report on Bollywood Hungama quotes Priyadarshan, “Yes, we’ve found our male lead in Hungama 2 and it’s Meezaan. The boy is terrific on screen. He is a fabulous dancer like his father, emotes and fights well. There is nothing he can’t do.”
Jaffrey junior made his acting debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production venture titled Malaal which came out earlier this year. The film tanked at the box office but Meezaan’s performance was appreciated.
Hungama 2 marks the return of Hera Pheri director to Hindi films after a gap of around six years. After making Rangrrez in 2013, he shifted his focus to Malayalam cinema.
While the Bhool Bhulaiyaa director emphasis that it’s a fresh take on the previous story though the masti, mischief and hungama remain unchanged. He further elaborates that Hungama 2 will be as clean and family-oriented as all his previous work in the genre.
The fans will be elated to know that Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor, and Rajpal Yadav will be returning in the second installment. Now when the name of male lead is announced, the curiosity among the audience is rife about the female lead.
Released in 2003, Hungama was an adaptation of Priyadarshan’s own 1984 Malayalam film Poochakkoru Mookkuthi. The film starred Paresh Rawal, Aftab Shivdasani, Akshaye Khanna and Rimi Sen in the lead roles alongside Tiku Talsania, Rajpal Yadav and Shakti Kapoor in pivotal roles.
