The film also features a new version of the old melody Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai intoned in Armaan Malik’s ethereal voice. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, bankrolled by T-series, Karma Entertainment and Gothic Entertainment, the film is scheduled to release on April 8.

Talking about the original cult song, Armaan Malik says, ‘Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai is an iconic RD Burman composition sung by Lata di and Kishore da and to perform it in a modern approach was definitely a daunting task. But I’m extremely proud of our final result and I hope the audience connects to it!’

The film talks about the 90s when India was rocked by the protest against the implementation of the Mandal Commission’s recommendation of 27% reservation to the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in government jobs. However, director Nikhil Bhat has exhibited the story in a romantic-drama style. Hurdang is slated to hit the theatres on April 8, 2022.
