‘Jai Mummy Di’ song ‘Dariyaganj’: Sunny Singh shares a soulful start to new year

After releasing the two songs Lamborghini and Mummy Nu Pasand last month, the makers of the upcoming film Jai Mummy Di have released the third song of the film. Titled Dariyaganj, the song is a slow and melodious track which is instantly likeable.

Penned by Siddhant Kaushal, the song starts with the lyrics Rang biranga bil hoya black and white wey … and soon the catch phrase comes Arzi dedo is di Dariyaganj de thaane referring to the famous market place Daryiyaganj in old Delhi. Composed by Amartya Bobo Rahut, the song has been sung by Arijit Singh and Dhvani Bhanushali.

Sunny Singh took to his social media account on 1 January to share the song and wrote, “A soulful start to the New Year, Dariyaganj from Jai Mummy Di  is out now! Share it with your soulmates!”

Jai Mummy Di is a light-hearted family comedy that tells the story of a couple who are trapped in the conflicting dynamics of their respective mothers. It shows the trials and tribulations the couple has to undergo because of their mothers’ nature and the effect it has on other members of both the families.

The film stars Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall as the male and female lead respectively. It also features veteran actors Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon in pivotal roles. The film marks the second collaboration of Singh and Seygall. They were previously seen together in Luv Ranjan directed 2015 romantic comedy Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2.

Written and directed by Navjot Gulati, Jai Mummy Di is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Luv Ranjan, and Ankur Garg. The comedy-drama is set to hit the theatres on January 17, 2020.
