Kangana Ranaut is ready to become a director once again. After directing the 2019 historical film, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, the actor is now going to direct Aparajitha Ayodhya. The film will be based on the Babri Masjid-Ram Mandir dispute.

No plans were their to direct the film, according to Kangana herself. Initially attached to the film as a producer only, the actor took the decision to direct it as well after a discussion with her other partners. Deeming the subject of the film as “not controversial”, she said,

“The plan wasn’t for me to direct the film. I started it as a project that I worked on from the concept level. I wanted to produce it and rope in another director for it. I was quite busy at that time to even think of direction. However, the script that KV Vijayendra Prasad shared was that of a film set on a large canvas, somewhat on the lines of the historical that I have directed before. My collaborating partners were also keen that I direct it. Eventually, even I felt that maybe it’s best if I helm this film. So, it all happened organically.”

Talking about the story of the film, Kangana said that the film is about ‘Love, Faith and Unity’, and above all it is a story of divinity. Kangana might not star in the film herself as she plans to focus on the direction of the film.

Having a previous experience as a director, Kangana is not feeling the pressure to direct the film and said that the prospect of directing the film does not make her nervous. Since the actor has worked on this film from scratch, she has the much needed clarity of thought.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan writer KV Vijayendra Prasad has written the story.
